What is insomnia? (A disorder affecting the quality and quantity of sleep)

Insomnia is a sleep disorder that involves difficulty falling asleep, waking up during the night, waking up too early, or not feeling well-rested. These issues can lead to daytime fatigue and reduced concentration.
Common causes include stress, irregular lifestyle habits, and physical or mental health conditions. It’s estimated that about 10% of adults struggle with insomnia, and if symptoms last for more than three months, it’s more likely to become chronic.
Reviewing and improving your lifestyle habits and environment is essential.

As a way to improve it, it’s important to regulate your daily rhythm—for example, by waking up at the same time every morning and getting some sunlight.
It’s also essential to create a good sleep environment by adjusting factors like light, noise, humidity, and temperature in your bedroom.
Simple strategies you can easily incorporate into your daily routine.

Drinking warm milk at night and avoiding your smartphone for about two hours before going to bed are also considered effective strategies.
Insomnia caused by physical factors

Physical fatigue can also lead to insomnia. When the muscles in the back become very tense, the parasympathetic nervous system has a harder time activating, while the sympathetic nervous system tends to dominate. As a result, even if a person feels relaxed, their body may still be tense, making it difficult to fall asleep.
Our Approach

At Re:Light, we begin with careful listening, sharing concerns related to sleep and daily habits together with each individual.
Rather than focusing only on mental aspects, we also pay attention to physical tension and body usage, supporting awareness of overall balance between body and mind.
Beyond the experience during the session, we value approaches that help people notice states that feel easier to relax into within everyday life.
